cindy cherrington

Texas landscapes in fused glass

Cindy Cherrington's passion for fused glass art has blossomed from a single small kiln into a thriving and fulfilling career and a studio with four kilns. For fourteen years, she has poured her heart and soul  into creating distinctive landscape glass panels.

Using powdered, crushed, and carefully cut pieces of glass, she creates intricate and expressive works of art through a meticulous process of layering and kiln firing, which brings depth, texture, and dimension to the glass. Each piece requires multiple firings and carefully applied layers to achieve balance and harmony. Cindy uses uses the tack-fusing technique to bond individual elements  while retaining subtle texture, resulting in artwork that is both visually striking and tactilely engaging. The process may take days or even weeks to complete, reflecting her commitment to craftsmanship and artistic excellence.

Her surroundings in Texas, particularly the majestic sight of towering trees amid fields of colorful wildflowers, serve as a boundless source of inspiration. She strives to capture that beauty in every

piece. Cindy feels blessed to be a full-time artist, and she finds fulfillment in her creative practice as well as  sharing her knowledge through fused-glass classes in her Fredericksburg studio.
